Returns

How are Amazon Japan returns handled?

First identify where the return is going and who receives it. An FBA customer return and an item physically returned to a third-party Japan warehouse are different workflows.

SHORT ANSWER

Check the return and inventory status in Seller Central first. JCDEN handles only items physically routed to its Japan warehouse under the agreed service scope.

01

Separate the return paths

A single “returned” status is not enough. Destination and system status determine who can inspect the item and authorize the next action.

  • Customer return completed and reassessed inside the Amazon network
  • Seller removal order routed to a specified Japan address
  • Non-FBA order returned directly to a warehouse or brand address
02

When the warehouse receives an item

The warehouse first matches the SKU, order or return identifier. Opening, testing, photography or repacking is performed only when agreed in advance.

  • Unidentified parcels enter an exception area
  • Sellable, pending-review and unsellable items stay separate
  • Personal data on labels is access-controlled
  • Restocking, return or disposal requires clear authorization
03

Service boundaries

JCDEN can receive, record, hold and process returns under instruction, but the brand remains responsible for product safety, warranty and resale eligibility. Free return handling and disposal are subject to membership, category, volume and fair-use conditions.

  • Define how the return address may be used
  • Name the authorized decision maker and allowed actions
  • Review long-pending stock on a schedule
  • Treat Seller Central as the source of truth for platform status
ACTION CHECKLIST

  1. 01Return order or identifier
  2. 02SKU and condition standard
